More discussion of a possible software fix. Various descriptions but basically all the same ideas:
- Every antenna is affected when exposed to various influences such as being touched.
- The chip/firmware responsible for managing the antenna should monitor the dB drop.
- The proper response to the dB drop would be to increase the signal strength.
I have read sources claiming that the chip does nothing to boost the signal. I have also read where the chip cut power instead of increasing it. I wonder how much of this is a pipe dream desire for a software fix being able to make the everything better?
